Wayne Saykao Thao

Wayne Saykao grew up in Laos and now lives in Minnesota where he leads the Foundation’s fundraising efforts in a region that has attracted the country’s largest population of Lao-Hmong people. Following the American withdrawal from Laos, Mr. Saykao served in Thailand as a liaison officer for refugee resettlement, successfully enabling over 2000 Hmong and Lao refugees to move to the United States in 1975 and 1976. In addition to starting businesses and serving on boards of directors and advisors for associations aimed at serving the Lao-Hmong communities, Mr. Saykao earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Physics.
