Sommay Sitthisay

As a young man of Laotian descent, Mr. Sitthisay worked in northern Laos as a dispatcher for Air America, the logistical arm of the CIA supporting Laotian efforts in the Secret War. He was then trained as a T-41 pilot for the Royal Laotian Air Force and was instrumental in helping control the migration of arms, supplies and soldiers from North Vietnam along the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. Mr. Sitthisay was then brought into the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane, Laos and served for two years in the office of the Defense Attaché. In 1977 he moved and resettled in the U.S. He then focused on his education, earning many degrees, most in Business and Economics, including a Master’s Degree in Information Systems and System Analysis and Design.
