Through his work at Denver-area mortuaries, Horan & McConaty, John met members of the Hmong community in Denver. John then learned about the Secret War and the heroic and patriotic Hmong people. Colonel Bob Resling, a USAF pilot and “Raven” who flew covert sorties in the Secret War, died in the midst of this campaign, and John stepped in to move the mission forward.
