The T-28
The T-28 was built to be a trainer for the U.S. Navy in 1956. It was taken out of military service in 1986. The radial piston engine produces 1,425 HP, making this plane capable of also being a fighter when outfitted with machine guns and bomb rails.
The Foundation purchased a T-28 B-Series in 2020. Under the direction of board member and pilot, Allen Cook, the plane has been restored, painted in the scheme of the Royal Laotian Air Force, and appears at events as a testimonial to the gallantry of the Lao-Hmong pilots who saved hundreds if not thousands of lives during the Vietnam and Secret War. The plane will eventually be decommissioned and repurposed to be the central feature of the national memorial.
